I purchased the climax pack last spring and hunted with it this season. It is a well made and well designed pack. I packed out an elk and 2 deer with it and it worked great. The quick release weapon holder worked awesome. Also did a 4 day backpack trip and loaded it with 70 lbs. It adjusts easily to fit and is comfortable even with a heavy load. The climax bag was a bit big for day hunting so I purchased the alpha to have a smaller bag option. Haven’t tried out the alpha yet but I’m sure it’ll work just as well.
After packing an elk out with the pack my only concerns/complaints would be the straps and buckles. Nothing broke but I feel that the straps and buckles need to be wider and little bigger and just more robust overall. The meat shelf could be 3 to 4 inches wider. These are my only complaints. It’s a comfortable pack and has plenty of useful features that make it a good hunting pack!
